Photo by Jacob Hunsanger LAPEER — Santa Claus is pretty busy this time of the year, but the jolly old elf is still taking time out every week to visit with local boys and girls in downtown Lapeer. Santa’s House has been revamped and refurbished, and now the small red house is open each week until Christmas so that local children and families can meet with Santa Claus, get a photo taken and tell him what they want for Christmas.

On Mondays (Dec. 3, 10 and 17) Santa’s House will be open from 5-7 p.m., along with Fridays (Dec. 7, 14 and 21) from 5-7 p.m. and on Saturdays (Dec. 8, 15 and 22) from noon to 2 p.m. and 3-5 p.m.

On Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, Santa’s House will be open from noon to 3 p.m., giving local children one last chance to meet with Santa and tell him what they want for Christmas before he begins delivering presents to children everywhere.

Photos with Santa Claus are available for $5, or families may bring their own camera and take photos with Santa at no charge.
